Private tutor in Rochester, MI
Education
I graduated cum laude with Departmental Honors from Oakland University - Spanish Language & Literature, French. My MA is from University of Michigan Flint in Technology in Global Education, GPA 4.0. My Education Specialist degree is in Leadership from Oakland University.
Experience
As an experienced World Language teacher in the Bloomfield Hills school district, I have taught grades Pre-K to 12 in World Languages, and have been an ACT Preparatory instructor at the high school level. I have extensive experience in helping students with ADHD learn strategies to succeed academically. I am the mother of 3 children, all of whom love to learn languages, and are each proficient or fluent in 2 languages. As an educator, I focus on building relationships, and providing rigorous lessons that are relevant to the student, in order to challenge individuals to meet their own personal academic potential.

Hobbies
I enjoy camping with my family, cooking, traveling, playing piano, iPhone photography, yoga, gardening, and reading. My own children are between the ages of 16 and 23 years old. As the mother of adolescents/young adults, I feel that I can very naturally connect with students of the same age. I am genuinely interested in their lives, interests, and aspirations. “Ideal teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross, then having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create bridges of their own.” ~ Nikos Kazantzakis
